Another spherical lamp shade that draws on paper’s flexibility and shape

The Flower Ball is a paper-made lamp shade that explores spherical panelization and perforation patterns. Perforated panels create visual complexity in an overall simple sphere form. Each lamp shade is made with multiple interlocking hexagonal and pentagonal panels made from laminated rice paper – a new tear-proof and durable material developed in Japan. The Flower Ball is designed by the team at 24°Studio, a multidisciplinary design practice founded by Fumio Hirakawa and Marina Topunova.
