Gently curved wooden frames turn a bus stop into a rural landmark
Designers at Yoshida Lab chose Japanese cypress tree to be the main material to build a rural bus stop. The 39-L wooden frames and 38 braces are interlaced to form an elegant arc, and the structure is animated by daylight throughout the day and in changing seasons. The expressive Wooden Bus Stop at Kochi University of Technology’s Kagamino Park in Kami, Shikuoku, Japan also features a transparent roof made of acrylic resin and basic sitting benches made of concrete.
