Exhibitor’s Stories
Created by nature, captured by design
Inspired by the rings, colours, and shape of bamboo, the Wazutsu tea caddy is based on the traditional Japanese birch craft called “Kabazaiku.” Incorporating different types of timber including wild cherry, walnut, maple, and birch, of which the outer layer is sliced and placed onto a cylindrical core. Natural colours and rings from different timbers form rainbow-like bands to showcase the inspirational combination of intricate woodworking craftsmanship and the unspoiled beauty that can only come from nature. Former president Kaichiro Yamada founded the company in 2004, and now the DENSHIRO team members has achieved many innovations on traditional homeware and furniture.
