Exhibitor’s Stories
This exquisite tea is harvested at more than 1,300 metres, on the top of Phoenix Mountain in Chaozhou in Guangdong, China. The shape of the white porcelain pot references the mountain peak, while simultaneously conveying a meditative Zen-like essence. Phoenix Dancong oolong tea belongs to the same family as Wu-yi oolong, but is not as widely known as other varietals, even though some Dancong tea trees are nearly 900 years old — two to three times more mature than any Wu-yi stock. The sheer white and traditional red stripe of this porcelainware highlights the tea’s individual characteristics.
