Exhibitor’s Stories

The River Stone Tea Set has holes in its exterior white shell, which envelopes the black Lao Yen clay interior. Taiwanese designer Tong Ho was inspired by pore-forming stones found in running water, and combined the two materials and colours through trial and error to achieve perfection in the final product. Like the river water it represents, the teaware embodies the designer and craftspeople’s diligence and persistence.
