A WINDOW ON THE WETLAND ECOSYSTEMS
The Hong Kong Wetland Park to the north of Tin Shui Wai, New Territories, was originally intended to be an ecological mitigation area (EMA) to compensate for the wetlands lost due to Tin Shui Wai New Town development. Opened to the public in 2006, the 61-hectare park is a prime example of harmony with nature, environmental practice and sustainable development, seeking to provide equally for the very varied functions of conservation, tourism, education, and recreation. The building’s landscape roof is integrated into the
natural setting of the park.
