RETURN TO CRAFTSMANSHIP
In recent years, many chairs have used plastic as the primary material, but plastic has its obvious shortcomings. Plastic’s tactility and ageing process are highly unpleasant. For the same price, the designer can use recycled aluminium and create a more sustainable chair. The craft requires relevant skills and creates much needed jobs for craftsmen. The tooling is complex but the chair can last a lifetime. A classic shaped chair, reinterpreted through modern production. The chair is made using both extruded and stamped recycled aluminium, which is then subject to hand finishing before surface treatment. Chair 4A comes in six different finishes including anodised, powder coated, and polished aluminium.
