Parallel Space Series – Rickshaw on Tram Track – Design Spectrum

Angela constructs silhouettes on walls using manufactured objects she collects from old family-owned stores. Each plastic item represents the historical development of Hong Kong’s manufacturing industries from the 1960s to now. In this artwork, plastic objects are assembled into the wall-hanging light sculpture, with their silhouettes forming the shadows of a Ding Ding Tram, the classic rickshaw riding across the tram track, and the high-rise buildings onto the wall, allowing the viewer to enter a parallel space where the faded local cultural element and the current Hong Kong landscape coexist.
