The MetaObjects project is an open exploration into the dialogue between form and technique, focusing on the translation of matter into different formats: still and moving 2D images, 3D objects, and the permeable zone of each intermediary. The significance of the project lies in the digital realm as a space of creative freedom, rather than a perfect simulation of our tangible surroundings. It thus explores the potential to push digital fabrication further by creating impossible artifacts straight out of a computer, and then places them back into our everyday settings, which are conceived as the open worlds of a hybridized physical video game.
