【always】Design Spectrum X Taste Library: Explore CNY Taste through Wandering Local Markets
How many local markets have you wandered so far? To prepare for the Chinese New Year (CNY), Design Spectrum and PMQ Taste Library invite Craig Au Yeung, PMQ Taste Library’s curator, and Edward Yip, “19-Generator”, to share the stories in their book “19 Wanders in Local Markets” in a workshop, and prepare a traditional CNY dish “Buddha’s Delight” (Lo Han Jai) using the ingredients brought by the participants before it. During the workshop, the heritage of local food culture will be explored through the participants’ sharing of their stories of shopping at wet markets.
– Participants are invited to visit a wet market on their own to prepare an ingredient costs within HKD30 before hand and bring it to the workshop. The ingredients will be used to cook a pot of “Buddha’s Delight” by the instructors at the workshop. The finished pots may vary according to the ingredients brought by the participants. To avoid wastage of food, the “Buddha’s Delight” will be consumed by the participants on the spot.
– Participants should prepare fresh, washed (if needed) and ready-to-cook ingredients. If the ingredients are dried foods, please soak them well before bringing them to the workshop.
– If you are vegan or have any food allergies, please fill in the details in the registration form.
– Upon completing the registration, the participant is deemed to have accepted all terms and conditions of the event, the official rules as stipulated and to those that may be later introduced by the Organiser.
– Each participant will receive one PMQ Taste Library Day Pass (Value: HK$50).
– The anti-epidemic measures of this event will be arranged based on the recommendations and guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection.
– Participants are required to take temperature check before admission. Visitors with fever symptoms will not be admitted.
– The Organiser reserves the rights of final decision on terms and conditions without prior notice.

Edward Yip, a.k.a. “19-Generator”. Edward is an author, curator and energy healing therapist. His cross-platformed works have demonstrated his wide range of interests, as well as his creativity and out-of-the-box mindset. These days, he is taking his time “sorting out his head” and “defining life” whilst feeding bellies and souls along the way. He is the author of “19 Wanders in Local Markets“, “Daily Recipes for Chavs“, and “19 Très Français“.
