In a patriarchal society when resources are gifted to male, women are destined to obey arrangements from the family. Women were treated as machines for giving birth, and left with no opportunities to receive education.

“Factory Girl” raises female’s level in society, proving women are equally independent and hardworking. Waking Beauty is a photomontage series depicting the social landscape of “Factory Girls” by compositing the diminishing historic pictures found online. The story of sacrifices made by “Factory girls” for their loved ones are unravelled, enduring cruelty and arduous time to let us taste the sweet fruition of equality.
