Exhibitor’s Stories

Commissioned for an environmental conference in Kyoto. Based on the sculptural maquette for a detail on the Arc de Triomphe. I wanted the effect of our eyes adjusting to the dark, so that the head isn’t recognized at first. Turning it into a garbage bag suggests the massive problem of waste on our planet, the suffocation caused by polluted air and the loss of former ideals. The background is yellow which I understand is the most toxic pigment.

Simple yet contrasting bold colours conveying a strong message of unappreciative of heritage and history.
