    Beyond functionality or the capability of problem-solving, have you ever thought about design may create happiness for us? In 2022, Design Spectrum will present a cross-disciplinary sharing to the public, moderated by Delightful Design Exhibition’s Curator Mr Lee Chi Wing, the dialogue will discuss and explore how design may formulate happiness and the philosophy behind a delightful design with renowned local designer Mr Sandy Choi and the founders of Corrupt The Youth, Uncle Salt and Li Hong-ting.

    Remarks for Participants:

    A. All participants are required to take temperature check before admission. Participants with fever symptoms will not be admitted.

    B. All participants must sign a form confirming they have not confirmed infection for Covid-19 and/ or been under compulsory quarantine imposed by the Department of Health. Hong Kong Design Centre reserves the final right for permission of entering the workshop venue if you are not able to complete or confirm the matters as set out in this form.

    C. All participants must wear a mask at all times during the activity. Eating and drinking is not allowed. Participants without wearing a mask will not be admitted.

    D. Participants are encouraged to use alcohol hand sanitiser before entry.

    E. In light of the current pandemic situation, the Organiser reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change any details such as dates of all events. Participants will be notified through emails or phone calls.

    In the last two decades or so since graphic designer Sandy Choi returned home to Hong Kong from London with a degree in Graphic Design from Saint Martin’s School of Art in 1985, his work has won numerous local and international accolades, including awards from British D&AD, New York Art Directors Club, Cannes festival, Warsaw International Poster Biennale, Le Salon International de l’Affiche Paris, Hong Kong International Poster Triennial, HK4As and HKDA.
    Prior to founding his own design consultancy Sandy Choi Associates Limited in 1997, Sandy had worked for several years in a number of noted design companies including Steiner&Co as well as in advertising agencies for nine years – first as art director and then Creative Director for Euro RSCG Ball Partnership in Hong Kong and later, as the Executive Creative Director for J. Walter Thompson in Shanghai.

    Founder, Sandy Choi Associates Limited

    Yeung Chun Yin, who has been nicknamed ‘Salt’ or ‘Uncle Salt’ (‘鹽’or ‘鹽叔’ )in Cantonese, graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences of The University of Hong Kong and the Department of Philosophy at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He went on to study a PhD Programme in Humboldt University of Berlin and King’s College London to further his study. In 2016, Salt and his comrades established a group ‘Corrupt the Youth’ (好青年荼毒室) and started to host ‘Philosophy Night’ (哲學有偈傾) in RTHK31(港台電視31), aiming to introduce philosophy to the general public. He is now teaching philosophy and critical thinking courses in various tertiary institutions in Hong Kong.

    Corrupt the Youth

    Dr Li Hong-ting obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Design (Culture and Design) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He then obtained his MA in Philosophy, MPhil in Philosophy, and PhD in Philosophy from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
