Exhibitor’s Stories
Retail Anatomy is a series of analytical studies into the architecture of retail and store of Hong Kong through drawings, photo documentation and physical models.
Lee Kung Man Retail Stores, one of the most renowned knitting brands in Hong Kong, has witnessed the city’s transformation through the ages into the international financial hub of today. These stores’ features, commonly seen in the 70’s, are the epitome of how consumerism-culture can shape the urban fabric and the collective memory of a city.
By revealing the unique spatial features of these prevalent spatial typologies of Hong Kong, the Retail Anatomy Project aims to present a new understanding on the urban reality of both Past and Future.
