IDK Design Thinking Workshop: Signage Lab

With the signage on the street as a medium to design better community life.

The signages exist because of our living, and there is a sequential relationship between the two. The function of it is to restrict and managing our living. If the premise is to build better community life, what interesting signage will appear?

In Signage design Lab, participants will experience what is better community life and what design thinking is. Starting with the DEFINITION process and ending with the TESTING process.

Design Spectrum x IDK Design Thinking Workshop Series

The workshop series aims to explore the inspirations brought by visionaries behind Design Spectrum’s concurrent exhibitions, and to re-discover the connections between Design, Creativity and Innovation.

About BODW CityProg (CityProg)  

BODW CityProg (CityProg) is a citywide creative business and community activation programme initiated in 2018 by Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC). It aims to foster exchange and collaborations among creative and design units, businesses and community organisations in rolling out a series of activities and events that create shared values through design, make the community a better place and create positive social impact. Each year, CityProg brings together over 100 partners to spark more than 200 happenings around the city through its three distinct platforms: “Anchor Site Festivals”, “Design EduVation” programmes, and “Satellite Events & Offers”, fostering creativity for our city and economy and nurturing a thriving creative ecosystem in Hong Kong.

A community extension programme of HKDC’s annual flagship event Business of Design Week (BODW), CityProg spans throughout the year, with major happenings in November and December near BODW annually. Create Hong Kong of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is the Lead Sponsor of BODW and CityProg.

Remarks for Participants:

A. All participants are required to take temperature check before admission. Participants with fever symptoms will not be admitted.

B. All participants must sign a form confirming they have not confirmed infection for Covid-19 and/ or been under compulsory quarantine imposed by the Department of Health. Hong Kong Design Centre reserves the final right for permission of entering the workshop venue if you are not able to complete or confirm the matters as set out in this form.

C. All participants must wear a mask at all times during the activity. Eating and drinking is not allowed. Participants without wearing a mask will not be admitted.

D. Participants are encouraged to use alcohol hand sanitiser before entry.

E. In light of the current pandemic situation, the Organiser reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change any details such as dates of all events. Participants will be notified through emails or phone calls.
