    【always】“Kintsugi – Beauty of Repair” Sharing 

    Do you know the aesthetics and values of kintsugi? Design Spectrum invited product designer Kenneth Lee to give a talk on how the traditional Japanese methods of kintsugi can create perfection from imperfection through repairing broken ceramics. After the seminar, there will be an opportunity to visit Kenneth’s studio where participants can learn about the repair process of kintsugi. A valuable opportunity not to be missed!

    Kenneth Lee’s fascination with aesthetic paved the way for him to work as a product designer. He studied product design at Birmingham City University which gave him his first-class honour Bachelor of Product Design. He was the first Hong Kong people who gained Eden Project Award from The Royal Society of Arts in UK in 2016, and was invited as a member of The Royal Society of Arts and also Hong Kong Industrial Design Association.

    Besides, he is interested in traditional handcrafts, Chinese calligraphy and Japanese art. In 2014, he studied traditional restoration skill in Japan called Kintsugi. He is currently working as an art and design teacher, and artist of urushi-art.
