Joy with Moving sculpture
Through this Automaton Workshop, the students will be able to turn their imaginative ideas into a movable mechanical sculpture. The instructor will lead children of all ages to learn simple woodworking techniques and use paint to express their creativity. Participants will be introduced to the joy of making automaton and hands-on creation.
Remarks:
Participants can bring one more mask, gloves, googles and apron for the workshop (optional).
Remarks for Participants:
A. All participants are required to take temperature check before admission. Participants with fever symptoms will not be admitted.
B. All participants must sign a form confirming they have not confirmed infection for Covid-19 and/ or been under compulsory quarantine imposed by the Department of Health. Hong Kong Design Centre reserves the final right for permission of entering the workshop venue if you are not able to complete or confirm the matters as set out in this form.
C. All participants must wear a mask at all times during the activity. Eating and drinking is not allowed. Participants without wearing a mask will not be admitted.
D. Participants are encouraged to use alcohol hand sanitiser before entry.
E. In light of the current pandemic situation, the Organiser reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change any details such as dates of all events. Participants will be notified through emails or phone calls.

Quentin Kong was born in 1988 and graduated from HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity (HKSC) in 2010. He then studied abroad in the US and France. He had also undergone a diverse working-holiday experience in Australia. Upon his return to Hong Kong, he founded the Chip Good Guy Studio and the Reinvention House woodworking machine art organization in 2013 and 2020 respectively. He graduated from the Hong Kong Visual Arts (HKVAC) Centre in 2018 with a 2-year sculpture course, and from the Hong Kong Construction Institute (HKIC) in 2021 with an intermediate welding course.
