This collection borrows the medium of “mirror reflection” from the Greek mythology of Narcissus, who fell in love with his own reflection in a pond. It strikes a warning towards self-obsession and the danger of fixation on physical beauty.
Jewellery is often associated with vanity. It frequently brings forward the wearer, mostly females, an obsession with beautiful and extravagant appearance on objects and people. The association between this property of jewellery and Narcissus’ mythology inspired the principle visual expressions for this collection.
The designer plays with the indefinite property of materials, bringing out classical elements in the light of surrealism as connections of vintage and contemporary styles.
